Canossia sistres in Uganda
The Canossian Daughters of Charity, Servants of the poor are an international missionary congregation of women found by St. Magdalene of Canossa, canonized in 1988. Here in Uganda the congregation was inaugurated in 1971 in the presence of Sr. Carolina Gandini, Sr. Anna Maria Sarti, Sr. Sophie Fernades and Sr. Pierrosa Diotti with the help of the late Eminence Cardinal Emmanuel Nsubuga. This move was intended to make Jesus known and loved through the ministries of Charity.
